We are so excited to share the bridal photo shoot we had the pleasure of styling at Petrichor Planning! As winter slowly begins to transition into spring, we wanted to create a wedding scene reflecting the crisp, clean beauty of a sunny spring day in Colorado.
For a clean, modern aesthetic, there’s no better setting than the Skylight venue located in the artistic haven of Santa Fe Drive in Denver. Open, airy and bright, this setting is perfect for couples looking for an elegant, unique wedding locale. A vast array of skylights perfectly contrast the wooden ceilings of this roomy 4000+ sq foot venue.
The crisp white brick walls and market lights beautifully highlight the abundant natural light. Nothing looks better in front of these walls than our beautiful model, Krystal Harrelson, wearing a stunning Justin Alexander textured lace wedding dress with dimensional flowers. This off-white dress includes a plunging sweetheart neckline, a beaded lace bodice and a flowing organza and tulle skirt. If you’re looking for a wedding dress of your own, we found this dreamy frock at The Bridal Collection in Centennial.
With such a gorgeous model and dress, our hair and makeup team had their work cut out for them. Using a neutral palette, makeup artist Saskia Kraatz crafted a fresh, clean look perfect for warmer weather or a daytime wedding. Hair magician Laura Gravina created loose, bouncy waves to perfectly offset the strapless design of the dress.
Of course, nothing contrasts Krystal’s striking auburn hair better than the floral arrangement from Whole Foods Market in the softest shades of canary yellow, blush and white. With just the right amount of bright pops of color, this bouquet looks understated with a hint of playfulness.
That said, every bride needs to eat, and Jenny Kerley baked a beautiful yet delicious wedding cake. Topped with a spray of soft, coral-hued flowers, we paired this heavenly cake paired with sweet, airy macaroons. By the end of the shoot, no crumbs were left. Are you hungry yet?
Placed on a wooden table decorated with an assortment of flowers, greenery and candles, the refreshments invoked the perfect springtime celebration. Naturally, such a classy arrangement needed to be artfully documented by the right photographer. Wedding photographer Emily Matthewson captured every whimsical detail with precision. Not only is Emily talented, but this Georgia peach combines professionalism with Southern hospitality so you always feel at ease when she’s behind the camera.
